Cassie Laird

I grew up in the country outside of a small town in Kansas with the best of the outdoors in my back yard. With my grandparents homestead and 80 acre lake just down the path from my back door, I was fishing and enjoying the best of nature as long as I could remember. I was the little girl in dresses rolling around in the mud and dirt playing with snakes and bugs! Also as a little girl my family took a week long camping trip to Roaring River State Park in Cassville, MO that had been passed down generation to generation. Roaring River is where I spent my time fishing for trout, splashing around in the creek hunting crawdads and staying up late by the campfire waiting to feed the raccoons. This summer, my fiance Sam and I got the pleasure of taking our own daughter, Rhiannon, to enjoy this hidden family treasure for the very first time. My grandfather hunted whitetail deer and turkey, but it wasn’t until 6 years ago that I was introduced to bow hunting for the first time. After having my bow for just shy of 4 weeks, taking my hunters safety course and putting in hours upon hours of practicing, I harvested my very first whitetail! I walked away with an amazing story, a beautiful buck and an addiction to bow hunting! Not only do I have a love of the sport of hunting and all things in the wild, I also adore all animals, love to relax at the lake, capture memories with my camera, paint, sketch, and spend time with wonderful friends and family.
