Laura Devier
Laura Devier was born and raised in Lynchburg, Virginia in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. As a young girl, her sense of woodsmanship grew as she explored these rivers and mountains. Her love for the outdoors began as a child when her father began taking her on lake fishing trips. While attending Virginia Tech University, Laura developed an obsession for the woods, as she pursued a lifetime goal to hike the length of the Appalachian Trail.
In 2006, Laura packed up and moved to Ft. Collins, Colorado, where she spends much of her free time fly fishing on the Cache la Poudre River and seeking new adventures in technical rock climbing. Laura is also a rising talent in photography. "Photography has changed the way I think. Creativity can flow from the body and mind in a variety of ways. Dancers use their limbs, singers use their voices, but I use my eyes. My sense of vision is sparked every time the camera touches my cheek. It will be interesting to see how my photography skills transcend into video production."
"As a beginning bow hunter, I am faced with multiple challenges like proper shooting skills, remaining calm at the moment of truth, and enduring long hours of patiently waiting for game. When Jake Latendresse first approached me about bow hunting, I was not sure what to think. I questioned myself, but the sport and adventure intrigues me. I want to be proficient with my archery equipment, because of my responsibility as a hunter. I am very excited for my first hunt with a bow and arrow."
Laura's archery hunting career will be documented (on camera) from the ground up. As more and more women enter the archery world, she wants to help recruit and be a part of an already rapidly growing activity...Bow Hunt Everything.
Laura currently resides in Ft. Collins, Colorado where she works as a compliance technician for New Belgium Brewing Company and beer slinger for the Town Pump Saloon
